Valuable Truths

Sometimes you need some perspective,
Like when you're
   standing out in the rain,
And all of your valuable truths
   have been shattered,
Battered by the winds of change.

When your faith is too weak
   for your intellect,
And your intellect leaves you no clue,
Rejoice you've joined
   the elite of our race ,
Now you're just another fool.

In time you may find
   some contentment,
Some dignity and some grace,
Remember that in your
   travels through life,
That it's both a journey and a race.
