The Left and Right

It's a left and right world,
     so easy to process,
      to label, lambaste and define.

It's black hats and white hats,
      it's good vs. evil,
      so simple - so easy to ryhme.

But what of the middle,
      that vast dry plain,
      with so many shades of gray.

It's a Devil's land,
      of detail and depth,
      where it's easy to lose your way.

So stick to the sides,
      don't search for the center,
      it's cold and the wind always blows.

It's a left and right world
      but if it's high ground you seek,
      good luck no one's yet built a road.
